2009
From
The East
Brethren:
It has been an honor to serve as your Worshipful Master for
the past year. 2009 has been a particularly challenging year for me both
personally and professionally; but through it all, there has always been
stability and friendship to be found in the fraternity. I thank you all
for your support, guidance, and trust.
Dinner will be served at 5:30 PM,
before our Stated Communication on December 15th at Doric. At the 7:00 PM
meeting, I will have the honor of installing the 2010 officers. It will be
a closed (tiled) installation as it is our regular meeting night. Please
come to lodge that night for dinner and to show your support for our new
officers! If you need a ride, please let one of the officers know.
An RSVP to Paul Hallingstad is requested for the dinner by Friday, December 11.
At the Annual Communication on November 3rd, Paul Hallingstad was elected to
serve as the Worshipful Master for 2010. Also elected were Isaac Lewis
(Sr. Warden), Steve Davidson (Jr. Warden), PM Bill Winge (Treasurer), PM Mitch
Custer (Secretary), Scott Graham (Trustee - 3 year), and PM Kenn Beauchaine
(Trustee - 1 year). WM-elect Paul Hallingstad has appointed PM Fred Leidel
(Chaplain), Ward Nottestad (Sr. Deacon), Luis Moroney (Jr. Deacon), PM Dale
Holmen (Sr. Steward), PM Jim Martin (Jr. Steward), Nick Elmquist (Counselor),
and Dan Bradford (Tiler) as his other officers.
Contact information for
all the officers can be found on the other side of the Trestle-Board, or on the
website at www.doriclodge.com.
See you in lodge!

From
The WM-Elect
Brethren:
I consider it a great honor and privilege to be elected
Worshipful Master of Doric Lodge No. 356 for the year 2010. Many brothers
have approached me and extended their best wishes for my year in the East.
However, it is my wish that Doric Lodge and all the brothers of the lodge have a
great year in 2010. The WM is just one spoke in the wheel of the lodge.
The band of brothers together comprise all the spokes in the wheel and make the
wheel strong and functional.
According to the present Doric roster sheet,
we have 131 members on board. Since I transferred to Doric several years
ago, I know or can recall meeting 41 of those members. I will challenge
those members, who are able and have not attended lodge in some time, to attend
Doric and support your lodge and officers. Myself and the rest of your
officers would like to see and meet you in person. Your lodge and the
craft can Be The Best It Can Be only with your support.
In accordance with the Doric by-laws, the lodge will be dark during the months
of January and February. We will have special meetings during those months
for candidate degree work and/or if special needs arise. The first
regularly scheduled meeting for 2010 will be Tuesday, March 2.
The
installation of 2010 officers will be held at Doric Lodge on S. Stoughton Road
on Tuesday, December 15. Brother Steve Davidson, who is the JW elect, has
volunteered to prepare chili for the brethren using his secret and tasty recipe.
We will provide fresh baked bread and butter, chopped onions, shredded cheese,
coffee, soda, and brownies. The chili dinner will be served at 5:30 pm.
The regular lodge meeting will begin at 7:00 pm with the opening in the MM
degree followed by the installation of the 2010 officers. The meeting and
installation are open to Master Masons only. If you plan on attending the
chili dinner, please RSVP by Friday, December 11. You can
do that if you see me in person or if you don’t see me, you can call me at
318-0412 or email me at pdhpar@charter.net.
We hope to see all you
brethren there and help Doric Lodge BE THE BEST IT CAN BE.
Fraternally, Paul Hallingstad, WM Elect
