March 2008

From The East

How many ways can it be said? When is the snow going to stop? As I write this article, we are under another winter storm watch and expecting another six to 8 inches of snow with more to come later in the week.

We have had two meetings in our new building so far and it already feels like home. Soon we will have our new tables in our social room. The new furnishing have arrived for the lounge area. The trustees have been busy and deserve big thanks from all of us. When you see one let, them know the great job they are doing.

Our lodge work is picking up and we are setting the dates for three EA degrees and one FC degree. We will be the host for the District meeting on April 26 and all are invited, as we should have many visitors that day. We are also planning an open house when the weather lets up so you will need to watch for that date in a future article.

I would like to invite everyone to the Masonic Center downtown Madison on Monday March 31 for the Scottish Rite Friends and Family Night, there will be a supper along with a short program and then the presentation of the Lincoln Play. This is a free event and open to everyone so please join use for a great evening. If interested please call me at 241-4751 so I can make sure there will be enough food for everyone. I would like to see a great response from the Doric family that evening.

On June 17, we will hold our Corner Stone celebration with the Grand Lodge officers. This will be a very special day for Doric so please make plans to attend.

As you see, we are going to be busy and we would enjoy to see everyone attend this year. If you need a ride please let one of the officers know and they will be happy to make some arrangements. For our brothers and friends from far away we would love to read any communications from you at our meetings. We know not everyone can attend in person but we do hope you still feel a part of us. I look forward to words of support from all over this country.

In Brotherhood,
Dale Holmen
