February 2008

From The East

Winter, you just have to love it.  Snow, snow and more snow where will it end.  With all of that, it is now time to move into our new Lodge building.  YES, they say it will be ready for our first meeting in February.  We have a moving date set for Saturday February 2nd.  We have Two Men and Truck scheduled to do the move for us. If you would like to be involved, please feel free to come.  We will meet at the storage sheds off Cottage Grove Road at Stuff and Store at 9:00 am. It is right behind the Dairyland Restaurant.

Before our first meeting I would like to meet with all the officers on Monday February 4th at 7:00 pm so we can practice our opening and closing in a real lodge setting.  Our first meeting will be February 5 at 7:30 so come and be part of history.

Doric will be doing a number of degrees in the next few months and we need you support.  We have two EA and one FC degree to set dates for.  Now is the time to either learn or re-learn some of those parts.

In January, we held a Lodge of Sorrow for Paul Kuntz PM.  Paul was our most senior PM and was the first EA to join Doric.  Time and history is catching up to all of us.  If you have, some memories you would care to share please send them on to me or come and tell your story at one of our meetings.  Now that we have a home, I hope we can make it feel like a home and a place you would like to spend some time.  This is your Lodge so do not be strangers.

As a project I would like to start up again the collection of food stuff for the Second Harvest Food Pantry so when ever you stop by please bring some canned goods and drop them in the basket.

See you in Lodge!
