Time is closing in on us in our current building. The
decision has been made that our temporary home will be
Messiah Lutheran Church at 5202 Cottage Grove Rd. For
sure we will be there in May, but I would like to start
in April if it can work out. That way we can start
moving items to storage and line up the items we will
sell and not be rushed at the end of the month. We have
a storage locker donated by Kent Olson (Doric member).
On
Feb 27th we held the FC degree for brother Andrew Moore
in lodge. I would like to thank all who were present and
those that took an active part. Brother Moore and six
other candidates from Doric will take part in the Man to
Mason to Shrine day on March 25 at the Shrine Center in
Madison. Your attendance is encouraged as we will need a
lot of help that day.
A
committee is looking into the long-range needs of Masons
on the east side of Dane County and how Doric might fit
into the program. Sun Prairie is interested in this and
I hope other groups are also. The trustees have located
some interesting properties in the area but we need your
input as to directions we should be considering,
including:
· Building
a new Lodge on our own
· Finding
a location to rent for a longer time
· Pooling
our resources with other groups on a larger project
We
would love to hear from you and your thoughts on the
future of Doric. Contact any of the current lodge
officers or Trustees.
On
March 26 at 2:00 pm there will be a FREE show put on at
Doric by RADIO ACTIVE which recreates the old radio
programs of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. Come and remember
the golden days of radio or see what we missed by being
too young (ha, ha).
Welcome to spring time at Doric. As you can see, we
will be busy and do need your help. Stop by and see the
old place before it is gone.
